Properties of Silica Refractories

2022-09-02 15:22:15

1. Refractoriness: 1600~1730"C. It varies slightly with SiO, content, crystal form, impurity type and quantity. The higher the SiO2 content, the higher the refractoriness, and the higher the impurity content, the lower the refractoriness.

2. Refractoriness under load: generally 1620~1670C, which is close to its refractoriness. The main influencing factors are the type, quantity, crystal form and density of impurities in the brick.

3. High temperature volume stability: thermal expansion + volume expansion caused by crystal transformation.

4. Thermal shock resistance: only 1~2 times of water cooling at 850C. The reason is that when the temperature changes drastically, the crystallization inside the silica brick undergoes a rapid transformation, and the volume suddenly expands or shrinks, resulting in a large internal stress.

When the use temperature fluctuates above 600°C, the thermal shock resistance is better because the crystallization does not undergo rapid transformation.

5. Slag resistance: It has strong resistance to the erosion of acidic and weakly acidic slag and corrosive furnace gas. It has certain resistance to CaO and FeO.
